We are pleased to share that our charity partner for 2024 is the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity (Noah’s Ark).

What does the charity do?

Noah’s Ark is a charity that specifically supports the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales, which is based in Cardiff. The hospital provides specialised healthcare services to children and young people from across Wales, offering a wide range of medical care including paediatric surgery, oncology, cardiology, neurology and other specialties. It also serves as a referral centre for children with complex medical conditions, providing comprehensive and multidisciplinary care.

The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital is known for its friendly environment, which is designed to make children and families feel comfortable and supported during their stay. It features dedicated play areas, colourful decor and amenities aimed at creating a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere for young patients.

The charity’s primary mission is to enhance the healthcare services and experiences for children (and their families) who require medical care at this hospital. The charity fundraises specifically for specialist medical equipment and improvements to the hospital’s facilities.

How will we help?

We will organise various fundraising activities throughout the year in an effort to raise as much money as we can for this wonderful cause.

Last year with our then charity partner we attended many of the charity’s quizzes, donated to their shop, hosted our annual charity bake-off, participated in a fundraising walk at Pen-Y-Fan and even completed a skydive (which alone raised over £1,500!).

Our Founding Director, Melanie Hamer is a Trustee of the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity. Melanie has supported this great cause throughout 2023 and at the Cardiff & District Law Society (CDLS) Awards in November, she presented to around 280 people about the great work this charity does and highlighted their ongoing ‘Tiny lives appeal’.

Melanie commented, “This is a small but very worthwhile and effective, Welsh charity benefitting the sick children of Wales. It has an extremely dedicated team who always go above and beyond expectations with great enthusiasm and smiles on their faces. I am delighted that our team at Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice voted Noah’s Ark to be our charity of choice this year. I look forward to joining our team effort to raise much needed funds for this wonderful charity.

Associate Solicitor & Charity Liaison, Bethan Tapper commented, “As a firm, we are really looking forward to fundraising for this brilliant charity. We have previously supported charities such as Llamau and Hope Rescue and we are excited to learn more about what Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity does and how we can help the charity over the next year.”
