We are thrilled to share that Esther Ifan has qualified as a solicitor, following the completion of her training contract with the Firm.

Esther, originally from Aberystwyth, studied at Cardiff University, where she graduated with an integrated degree in Law and Welsh in 2019. She then returned to Cardiff to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Master of Laws (LLM) in 2020.

Esther joined Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice as a Paralegal in July 2021. In August 2022, after a year of excelling as a Paralegal, the Firm was delighted to offer her a training contract. Since then, Esther has continually progressed, expanding her knowledge in her role training as a specialist family lawyer.

In addition to carrying out her training contract, Esther is involved in the Cardiff and South East Wales Junior Lawyers Division (JLD), where she is the current Welsh Officer. As Welsh Officer, Esther is involved in hosting and organising events with the JLD, especially events held in the medium of Welsh.

As a fluent Welsh speaker, Esther is now the third solicitor at our Firm who is able to advise our clients through the medium of Welsh, which is something we take great pride in offering.

As a Firm, we are very pleased with how Esther has developed in the three years she has worked with us, and we have no doubt that she will prove to be an excellent solicitor in the months and years that follow.

Esther commented, “I am extremely grateful to the WHFLP team and to everyone around me for believing in me and for the support they’ve given me along the way. I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of a leading family law firm and I am very much looking forward to the next chapter! Diolch am yr holl gyfleoedd a’r gefnogaeth, ymlaen i’r bennod nesa’!”

Director, Sarah Wyburn commented, “We are delighted that Esther has completed her training and is being promoted to a role as a qualified solicitor at the Firm. It is a testament to her hard work and very well deserved. Her appointment builds on the specialist team of solicitors that we have as the Firm continues to go from strength to strength.”
