To mark the end of LGBT History Month, Associate Solicitor, Sam John, recently took part in a round table discussion for BPP University, where he and five other lawyers spoke their experiences and what the future may look like for LGBTQ+ people in the legal profession.
Sam has also featured in the Law Society Gazette this month, discussing his role as a member of the Law Society’s LGBT+ Lawyers Division Committee, and the pro bono work he undertakes through the Cardiff LGBTQ+ Law Clinic.
Sam has been a member of the Law Society’s LGBT+ Lawyers Committee since October 2021, and in his capacity as a member of the Committee, he is currently in a group with other members, following up on the findings from The Law Society’s ‘Pride in the Law’ report. Sam and his group will be arranging roundtables with individuals and firms to explore the issues identified in the report in more detail.
We at Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice are very passionate about creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession and Sam hopes to be able to play a part in working towards this through being a member of the Law Society’s LGBT+ Lawyers Division Committee.
